How
do I know if my instrument is MIDI capable?
All ZETA MIDI capable instruments feature our proprietary
8-pin output jack, which is located next to the standard
1/4" output.
Is
my Jazz Standard UpRite Bass MIDI capable?
Yes - you will need to request the Jazz Standard UpRite Bass
MIDI cable from your Authorized Zeta Dealer when purchasing
the Synthony II processor in order to confer MIDI capability
- this applies to Jazz Std. Uprite's built before 01/01/00.
Does
ZETA give discounts to teachers or students?
At present time, ZETA does not give educational discounts.
Can
I try out an Attic instrument?
At present time, ZETA is not open to the public.
Adjusting
the volume control on my ZETA instrument changes the
instrument's tone.
Most likely your ZETA instrument is passive - meaning, there
is no internal power source, such as a 9volt battery, to
boost the output signal.
The tone change is caused by a change in resistance when the
volume level is adjusted. This is a common feature of
passive electronic instruments, and can actually be used to
adjust the tone in addition to volume.
Can
I change my Jazz Standard violin headstock to the Jazz
Fusion violin headstock?
At present time, ZETA does not retrofit older instruments
with newer headstocks.
Is
my Jazz Standard Violin compatible with the new Synthony II?
Yes - no additional electronics are needed.
What
is the difference between the High and Low inputs on the
AE12 amplifier?
Channel 1 on the AE-12
is designed for instruments with a "passive"
pickup system. This means that there is not a battery or
preamp installed in the instrument.
For instruments with an "active" pickup system
that have an installed battery and/or preamp use Channel 2.
This channel is "padded" (-10db) to cut the
stronger signal of the active/preamped instrument, in order
to prevent signal distortion.
How
long will the battery in my ZETA last?
Under normal use, a 9-volt battery will last for 1,000 hours
of playing time.
Be sure to unplug your instrument cable after each use, as
the inserted cable activates the internal battery.
Which
ZETA instruments are MIDI capable?
Currently, all ZETA solid body violins,
violas,
cellos
and bassess
feature MIDI capability when used in conjunction with the Synthony
II MIDI controller / synthesizer.
Can
I get the Silent Practice capability in a Performer Series
instrument?
At present time, the Silent
Practice capability is available only in Educator Series
solid body violins, viola, cello and uprite bass.
What
is the best amplifier for my ZETA violin?
The AE-12
Bowed Stringed Instrument Amplifier is the only amplifier on
the market today which has been engineered with the electric
violinist in mind. The AE-12 features the necessary EQ
points and crossover frequencies to properly represent your
electric violin, viola or cello. Just as the best electric
bass tone is produced by playing through a bass amp, and the
best electric guitar tone by playing through a guitar amp,
the best electric violin tone is produced by playing through
the ZETA AE-12 amplifier.
Does
ZETA accept trade-ins?
At present time, ZETA cannot accept trade-ins.
Can
I get an Educator Series instrument in a color?

following finishes:

& Classic Violins, Natural Redwood.

Violins, 3/4 & 4/4, Traditional Varnish.
