FAQ
- MIDI, Controllers & Functionality
How
do I know if my instrument is MIDI capable?
All ZETA MIDI capable instruments feature our proprietary
8-pin output jack, which is located next to the standard
1/4" output.
Can
I upgrade my ZETA to have MIDI and/or Silent Practice?
At present time, ZETA instruments without these features
cannot be upgraded to included MIDI or Silent Practice
capability.
Is
my Jazz Standard UpRite Bass MIDI capable?
Yes - you will need to request the Jazz Standard UpRite Bass
MIDI cable from your Authorized Zeta Dealer when purchasing
the Synthony II processor in order to confer MIDI capability
- this applies to Jazz Std. Uprite's built before 01/01/00.
Is
my Jazz Standard Violin compatible with the new Synthony II?
Yes - no additional electronics are needed.
How
do I change the internal battery in my Synthony/VC225?
Removal and replacement of the 3V lithium battery in your
VC225 is relatively easy. Unscrew the top cover from the
unit. Facing the unit, the lithium battery will be found in
the upper lefthand corner of the internal unit. Gently lift
the battery clip and remove the lithium battery. You will
unfortunately loose any presets which you may have
programmed into your VC225. 3V lithium batteries are
available at most local electronics stores.
Which
ZETA instruments are MIDI capable?
Currently, all ZETA solid body violins,
violas,
cellos
and basses
feature MIDI capability when used in conjunction with the Synthony
II MIDI controller / synthesizer.
Can
I plug my ZETA MIDI instrument directly into a tone
generator?
The nature of stringed instruments requires an additional
step when translating the analog signal into a digital MIDI
signal. On a keyboard or drum set, each key or pad can be
made into a trigger, as each key or pad can only produce one
tone. A stringed instrument has the potential to create an
infinite variety of tones for each string. Thus, each string
cannot be made into a trigger without an additional
conversion step. The ZETA Synthony
II MIDI Controller / Synthesizer converts the analog
signal produced by your ZETA MIDI instrument into a digital
MIDI signal. You can then use the Synthony II to drive an
external tone generator.
Can
you send me a catalog?
Yes! Please contact
ZETA with your Name, Address, Phone#, Email and we will send
you a complimentary full-color catalog.
What
are the best strings to use for my ZETA instrument?
For the best possible results, use ZETA strings
on your ZETA instrument.
