Bio
As
a classical child prodigy violinist by age six, Kristina was
touring North America with various San Francisco area based
child symphony orchestras, and as a solo act. She spent most
of her childhood honing her classical chops while winning
prestigious national awards such as the Leonard Bernstein
award. By age 16, Kristina became much more interested in
jazz and blues and spent the next several years playing live
and in the studio with the likes of Madness, Buddy Miles,
John Lee Hooker, Narada Michael Walden, Charlie Musslewhite,
and Jonathan Cain. More recently Kristina has worked with
Vince Welnick of the Grateful Dead, and top ten Republic
recording artist, Oleander. Curiously Strong was impressed
when they saw Kristina perform at SXSW 1998 and asked her to
lay down some tracks with them on the "This is
Life" record. She has since moved to Austin to join the
band as a full time member.
Favorite Artists: Esthero, Sneaker Pimps, Gum, Seal, The
Pretenders.
